HORSE RIDING ADVENTURE
Important Information
GET READY TO MOUNT UP!
Horse riding is a personal experience. You may enjoy vigorous gallops or gentle walks, lots of jumps or a more sedate trot. In addition, your personal experience and stature will determine both the adventure you embark on and the horse you ride.
While day rides are accessible to novices, a multi-day horseriding adventure requires a certain level of experience, and familiarity with long days in the saddle and variable terrain are essential.
SAFETY ~ A professional riding guide leads every journey. A safety briefing is often given before setting out, with detailed information about specifics of the upcoming ride, such as how to handle a big game situation, how to navigate certain obstacles and the day’s schedule. Full medical insurance is usually required and policy details must be submitted prior to arrival.
RIDING ABILITY ~ An intermediate standard (comfortable at all paces) of riding ability is generally recommended, if not required. Skill level will be assessed for each participant and should guides feel that any rider is not competent and therefore imposes a risk to themselves and others, an alternative solution will be suggested.
HORSES ~ A wide range of horses to suit each individual is usually available and every effort is made to match horse and rider. The horses are sure footed in their terrain and comfortable in their environment.
WEIGHT LIMIT ~ Weight limits are often imposed to ensure the welfare of the horses. For this reason, it is imperative to disclose your current weight prior to departure.
LENGTH OF RIDES ~ Rides may span between 4 – 8 hours a day, covering 20 – 50 kilometres, depending on location and itinerary and will invariably include refreshment breaks, picnics and rest stops throughout the day.
In order for us to be able to create a horse riding safari ideally suited to you, we require some additional information. Please complete the following form. It is imperative that you answer all questions truthfully.
