For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to explore the world — and Africa in particular is part of my heredity. My grandparents had an Out of Africa early marriage, owning a cattle farm in the Kenyan wilderness where my mum was born and raised until the age of five. When I was sixteen, I visited Kenya with a school friend, meeting my mum’s godparents and standing at the precise spot where she was born — a truly surreal experience, made all the more so by the fact that the very spot appears in the opening scenes of Out of Africa.
I entered the safari industry in 2018, gaining a great deal of knowledge from a content creation perspective, and joined The Classic Safari Company in 2024. I had previously worked with the company through a marketing agency, so joining a team I was already familiar with and genuinely fond of was very gratifying. I studied photography at university and have spent many years as a freelance journalist and graphic designer. Combining these skills with my passion for the world’s wild places allows me to convey the exhilaration and wonder of extraordinary destinations to a wider audience.
Last year, 2025, the team sent me to Zimbabwe and Botswana; helicopter flights over the Okavango, day-long camp-to-camp hikes, and standing drenched in the mists of Mosi-oa-Tunya. But the moment that perpetually peppers my skin with goosebumps was seeing wild dogs for the first time. A sleepy pack of 19 allowed us close proximity before rallying and setting off on a hunt. Their strategy, unity and seamless communication as they tracked their quarry was a privilege to witness.
What I find most rewarding about The Classic Safari Company is its commitment to conservation, charity and sustainability — values woven into every journey. Animal welfare is very close to my heart, and knowing I play even a small part in supporting these causes means a great deal.
