Kakuli

South Luangwa, Zambia

Walking wild in Zambia

Kakuli is a tented bush camp on the confluence of the Luwi and Luangwa rivers in the South Luangwa.

There are four traditional walk-in safari tents each with an en-suite bathroom made with natural materials.  A lovely thatched chitenje (lounge) acts as the centre of camp. It is on a wooden deck overlooking the grazing lawn that leads down to the two rivers and is a perfect spot in which to relax and watch the wildlife meander by, the views from Kakuli are spectacular.  The bar and dining chitenje is constructed of reed and thatch forming the centre point of camp.

This area of the Park is renowned for offering guests some of the best game viewing opportunities in Zambia. Safari activities from Kakuli will usually be a mixture of game drives and walking safaris. Guests...

An absolutely fantastic travel company - every one of the many trips they have organised for us over 22 years have been faultless and fabulous.

Thank you for putting together the ancestral adventure of a lifetime. I cannot speak highly enough of the trip. The transfers went smoothly, the accommodation was excellent, the drivers were amazing as they manoeuvred through the traffic and every tour guide had a great deal of knowledge and information. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The contrast of poverty and riches of the country was striking, from the beggars in the street and struggles of the poor to the spectacular, impressive sights of the forts and monuments. There were so many highlights. A moment in time that will never happen again.
