Set in the heart of the sparsely populated Congo Basin, Odzala-Kokoua National Park is part of the second-largest tropical rainforests in the world. Ngaga Camp is surrounded by marantaceae forest, home to several lowland gorilla groups.

Ngaga Camp has six guest rooms nestled in a glade within pristine primary forest above the Ngaga Stream. The rooms as well as dining, lounge and bar area are all on raised decks at the crest of the glade looking into and above the rainforest canopy. The lodge is styled on traditional B’Aka architecture and uses natural materials that blend into the forest environment. A star deck and fire pit complete the camp’s design, while a separate deck is located at a natural swimming spot on Ngaga Stream below camp.

The principal activity at Ngaga Camp is the tracking on foot of habituated western lowland gorillas. These excursions are led by a guide and skilled local tracker who are able to follow signs on the forest floor, which lead them to the chosen gorilla group for the day. Birding and night walks are possible in search of various primate species as well as some spectacular forest birds.

Ngaga Camp offers the thrill of observing one of our closest relatives in the wild and of exploring a thriving rainforest ecosystem.
