Beyond Marrakech, where the High Atlas recedes into rock and scrub, the Agafay Desert unfolds in folds of ochre hill and open horizon. The White Camel sits within this stark, cinematic landscape, close enough to the city for an easy transfer, remote enough that by nightfall the silence feels absolute and the stars arrive without competition.
Design here leans into the setting rather than away from it. Earth-toned interiors, natural light and organic furnishings define the Singita Restaurant, its high-ceilinged dining room wrapped in glass for 360-degree desert views. Elsewhere, low Moroccan tables and traditional textiles bring a more grounded, tented-camp warmth to the spaces built for lingering.
Accommodation draws on Moroccan craft and desert practicality in equal measure, with each lodge oriented to make the most of its view across the dunes. Interiors favour texture and warmth over ornament, a fitting counterpoint to the rawness of the terrain outside.
An unhurried, activity-rich pattern, found throughout the camp, presents you with a selection of choices each day. Camel rides thread across the dunes at golden hour, the spa’s hammam and sauna offer traditional restoration, and dinner shifts between the Singita Restaurant’s contemporary glasshouse and the open-air David Restaurant, where low tables and sweeping views over olive groves make for a fittingly theatrical sunset. As evening approaches, an expert-guided stargazing session closes the day beneath one of the clearest night skies within reach of Marrakech.
