3 UNFORGETTABLE DAYS

DAY 1 | KAKADU | 1 NIGHT

Our first stop is Fogg Dam Reserve. Fogg Dam has year-round water coverage, which assures its position as an important feeding and roosting site for a wide variety of water birds, as well as other animals. Little, Intermediate and Great egrets, Pied herons, Glossy ibis, Royal spoonbill, Little Black and Little Pied cormorants, Comb-crested jacanas, Australian darters and Jabiru storks are just some of the birds that can be seen feeding, fighting and breeding at Fogg Dam. You’ll journey on to the Mary River Wetlands to enjoy a 45-minute Airboat Safari adventure. This is a truly unique experience that takes you where no one else can go. The wetlands system is teeming with wildlife, and you’ll have close encounters with crocodiles and countless birds.

Continue to Kakadu National Park and your last stop Cooinda. Here you experience one of Kakadu’s icons – a cruise through a 10-square-kilometre pristine environment of the Yellow Water Billabong which supports a truly incredible variety of plants and Top End wildlife. You’ll spend the night at your exclusive bush camp.

DAY 2 | KAKADU | 1 NIGHT

Today we head to the southern end of Kakadu National Park. Our first stop is a pristine and famous waterfall, Gunlom, located on Waterfall Creek, and its white sandy beach and 120-metre cascading waterfall are incredible. A more challenging walk to the top of the waterfall is rewarded with a swim in a natural infinity pool, and the best view for miles overlooking the beautiful South Alligator Valley. Your next stop is the magical Maguk (Barramundi) Gorge. A one-kilometer walk through sub-monsoonal rain forest leads to the base of a beautiful plunge pool. Maguk Gorge is a natural wonder of crystal-clear water surrounded by towering rock walls, the ideal place to enjoy a refreshing swim in paradise. Later you return to your exclusive permanent bush camp for a night of relaxation in the beauty and tranquility of Kakadu National Park.

DAY 3 | END OF ITINERARY

Today you are privileged to visit Arnhem Land, the home of Aboriginal people for tens of thousands of years. Access is restricted and by invitation of the traditional owners, who may deny access at any time. Departing the northern region of Kakadu National Park, you cross the infamous Cahill’s Crossing on the East Alligator River and enter Arnhem Land. A 15-kilometre scenic drive to the Gunbalanya Indigenous Community provides some of the best driving views in the Top End, taking in floodplains, billabongs and the Arnhem Land escarpment. The area includes the floodplains of the East Alligator River that are covered by water from December to April and a rocky sandstone plateau rising up to 200 metres above the plains. On arrival, you visit the Injalak Arts and Crafts Centre. Visitors to Injalak will experience the traditional culture of the Kunwinjku people where you can get to know the artist and see firsthand how artworks are created. There is an opportunity to browse and purchase a range of affordable art in different mediums and styles reflective of the ingenuity of the Kunwinjku people, before returning to Darwin.
