Set Departure - The Kimberley

True North

Cruising Australia's Top End

Kimberley Cruising

A True North cruise blends adventure, exquisite luxury and expert guiding on a number of voyages covering thousands of nautical miles aboard one of the world’s finest expedition vessels.

A range of itineraries allow guests to experience the stunning coastline and rugged landscapes of the remote Australia, whether you choose to experience nature’s mighty waterfalls, rock formations and coral reefs, discover the region’s ancient aboriginal history, fish for monster barramundi or a enjoy a blend of activities on a carefully curated activity-based itinerary.

If you were to travel from Wyndham to Broome, you’d witness the might and power of the King George Falls only meters from the bow of the ship, marvel at ancient rock paintings in the caves of Jar Island, soar in a helicopter up to stunning Eagle Falls, and tussle with barramundi, mangrove jack, and giant gold-spot snapper. The Kimberley captivates travellers with its rugged landscape and billion-year old sandstone gorges, while its delightful freshwater pools and streams offer many private oases for safe swimming and cool refreshment.

Aboard True North you’ll find a sundeck, a forward observation lounge, a ship’s lounge and an alfresco bar. The ship’s naturalist presents interpretative information on wall mounted screens in the ship’s lounge and the lower deck dining room offers large panoramic windows allowing guests to enjoy panoramic vistas whilst fine dining. All cabins feature stylish décor, en-suite facilities and plenty of space for either king or twin beds.

True North is purpose built to access wilderness areas and explore the upper reaches of shallow river systems that larger boats cannot access. Multiple small activity boats provide guests with greater opportunity to do “what they want, when they want” and most cruise options feature an on-board helicopter. Daily activities can include snorkelling, diving, fishing, hiking, picnics, natural history, cultural interpretation and scenic chopper flights.

A True North expedition is not a cruise but a voyage into the depths of the Australian wilderness.

You will love
