The following information has been obtained from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Smartraveller website. However, as every country decides who can enter or leave through its borders, and entry and exit requirements can change at short notice, we recommend you reconfirm all requirements before you depart.
You must present a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result taken within 7 days prior to arrival. COVID-19 tests are not mandatory for accompanying children under five years.
Rapid Diagnostics Test (RDTs) and Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs), are not accepted.
STAYING IN COUNTRY
Measures in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 are being strictly enforced. The government is regularly reviewing these measures. You can consult the Namibian Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration for details about visas, currency, customs and quarantine rules.
You must wear a face mask in public at all times. Penalties apply for non-compliance.
Curfews are in place nationwide.
Australian passport holders can visit for up to 3 months without a visa.
YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION
You’ll need a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate to enter Kenya. Some airlines may want to see yours before allowing you to board your flight to Kenya. Find out about returning to Australia after exposure to yellow fever.
TRAVEL WITH CHILDREN
Children who aren’t accompanied by one or both parents must carry:
- a full birth certificate that identifies their parents
- an affidavit from any absent parents giving consent for the child to travel
The affidavit must be less than 3 months old and include:
- the signatures of both parents
- full names, addresses, phone numbers and passport details of the child and both parents (as listed on the birth certificate)
- travel destinations of the parent and children
- a certified copy of any absent parent’s passport.
If you don’t have valid documents, authorities may deport you or stop you boarding your flight.
