Inspiration Itinerary | Rio de Janeiro

Pantanal

Iguassu Falls, Brazil

Top two of Brazil

Arrive to Sao Paolo, and check into the Marriott for your overnight stay.

The following morning fly to Campo Grande, before a road transfer of approximately 3.5 hours to your lodge, the Caiman Ecological Refuge, in the Pantanal, where you have a four-night stay.

The Pantanal is considered one of the richest wildlife territories and the largest floodland region in South America, a labyrinth of still and running waters with an abundance of wildlife. During your stay head out on safari and search for wildlife such as caiman, jaguar and capybara, admire the birdlife, and perhaps try your hand at canoeing, horseback riding, fly-fishing or trekking.

Continue your journey in Rio de Janeiro, a year-round destination and a melting pot of Brazilian culture.

Check into your hotel, the Fasano for a four-night stay, the property oceanfront in the stylish district of Ipanema, adjacent to Leblon. Freshen up, rest by the lounge bar perhaps, take a swim in the rooftop infinity pool, and gear up for further exploration of the city.

While in town, head out for a guided tour of the city, visit both Sugar Loaf Mountain and Corcovado with the Christ the Redeemer statue, and spend a day perhaps lounging or walking along Copacabana beach.

Next up, fly to the mighty Iguassu Falls, the widest falls in the world! Check into Das Cataratas, the only property located within the Iguassu National Park, and spend the afternoon appreciating the unrivalled location where after the park’s closing hour and before it opens again in the morning, the sounds, serenity, views and thunder of the falls are all yours!

On your last day in Brazil and while at the Falls, spend the entirety of it visiting the Argentine side of the Falls, head out on a boat trip and be prepared to get very wet(!), and if the opportunity allows, perhaps fly over the Falls in a helicopter!

You will love

  • Searching for jaguar
  • Walking about Copacabana
  • Flying over the Falls
  • Nocturnal safaris in the Pantanal
