Antarctica 21 Fly Cruise

Jumping over Cape Horn and the mythical waters of the Drake Passage, Antarctica 21 takes you to one of the most spectacular places on earth, the coldest, highest, windiest, driest, and most remote continent – Antarctica.

Antarctica is a continent surrounded by oceans. Reaching it requires either sailing across the ocean or flying over it. The body of water between South America and the Antarctic Peninsula, the infamous Drake Passage, can be rough but by choosing to fly with Antarctica 21 you can avoid this passage should you wish. You’ll also save time since the flight takes just two hours (the ship crossing takes two days).

Once in Antarctica you’ll explore this magnificent continent on foot and by exploration vessel, leaving the main ship to board small zodiac boats which can reach the isolated spots where few humans have trodden and wildlife and nature abounds. You’ll visit Chile’s Frei Station and Russia’s Bellinghausen station, sail along ice-filled fjords, navigate mountainous glaciers and roaming icebergs, attend an engaging program of lectures and presentations and absorb the immense scenery all around you.

During the exploration, guests are escorted at all times with renowned naturalists, historians and scientists who share their passion and knowledge of Antarctica. This virtually guarantees magnificent sightings of Orcas, Humpacks and Minke whales, several species of penguin including Chinstrap, Macaroni, Gentoo and Adelie, leopard and elephant seals and a vast range of extraordinary birds including Albatross, Petrel and Skua.

Antarctica 21 only offers expeditions aboard small ships carrying a maximum of 71 guests. In Antarctica a regulation designed to manage environmental impact limits the number of visitors at any one location to no more than 100 meaning larger ships must organize travellers in groups that take turns and guests must wait for significant timeframes to disembark. Not with Antarctica 21, with whom your experience of the vast White Continent is truly maximised.

Antarctica is an ecological wonder that has bewitched explorers, scientists and voyagers alike for two centuries. Its matchless beauty and extreme climate conditions make the continent one of the most exotic destinations in the world.

The trip exceeded my expectations and was the best family holiday I have ever had. Our children simply loved it and now I know more about African wildlife than they do about our own farm animals.
