Holi India 2022
Our journey commences in the capital Delhi before travelling to India’s most holy city of Varanasi where we will witness morning rituals on the ghats that line the Ganges River, wander through the fragrant flower markets & narrow cobblestone alleyways lined with ‘chai wallahs’. We will delve deep into Rajasthan where we will ride tuk tuks like locals, visit ancient forts and palaces, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola and rise at dawn to the sound of the muezzin’s call to experience ‘real’ India as the ci?es wake. Of course we will visit the iconic Taj Mahal which is every bit as enthralling as one imagines, especially at the quieter times of sunrise and sunset, and there will be plenty of opportunity for retail therapy in leading boutiques and colourful bazaars.
The peak of our journey will be the Hindu Spring Festival of Holi, when the streets will explode with colour in a dazzling celebration of life, love and joy. We will be swept up in the mesmerising displays of dance and music on this hugely significant, joyous and unmissable day!
