Nestled on an exclusive stretch of the Zambezi River, &Beyond Matetsi River Lodge celebrates the region’s fascinating heritage with authentic features and effortlessly combines them with light and airy contemporary interiors. Designed to make the most of the reserve’s spectacular views, the lodge’s two camps, of just nine suites each, are complimented by tranquil guest areas.
Blending perfectly into their environment, the two intimate camps of Matetsi River Lodge reflect the deep traditions and undaunted spirit... of the land, from ancient fishing methods to time-honoured basket-weaving techniques. Striking and contemporary interiors are enhanced by rustic accents and distinctive artworks created by renowned Zimbabwean-born painter, Helen Teede.
Both indoor and al fresco showers offer a promise of refreshment, while a deep and indulgent circular bath provides a languid viewpoint onto the Zambezi.
Tranquil and shady, a spacious private veranda provides magnificent river views, which can be enjoyed from a comfortable sitting area or the cool depths of a sparkling rim-flow pool. As dusk sets, atmospheric lantern-lit private dinners are served to a serenade of Africa’s night sounds.
Enjoy an array of activities from cruising along the Zambezi River, game drives, bush walks, tour of the falls, bungie jumping, gorge swing, helicopter over the falls and white water rafting.
