Machaba Camp

Okavango Delta, Botswana

Tree of Life

Machaba Camp is a traditional style camp nestling in the game-rich Khwai area on the eastern tongue of the Okavango Delta. The Khwai Concession is a 35 000 hectare reserve which shares its westerly border with the Moremi Game Reserve.

The camp is built in the classic 1950’s style, with ten luxury safari tents separated by pathways that meander between the large riverine trees. All of the tents are situated on the beautiful Khwai River, overlooking the famous Moremi Game Reserve. From their verandas you can watch the daily parade of animals coming down to drink at the river in front of camp. The communal mess area is spacious but provides plenty of quiet nooks in which to read or relax. Facilities include a plunge pool, dedicated wifi zone (wifi has deliberately not been installed throughout...

An absolutely fantastic travel company - every one of the many trips they have organised for us over 22 years have been faultless and fabulous.

Thank you for putting together the ancestral adventure of a lifetime. I cannot speak highly enough of the trip. The transfers went smoothly, the accommodation was excellent, the drivers were amazing as they manoeuvred through the traffic and every tour guide had a great deal of knowledge and information. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The contrast of poverty and riches of the country was striking, from the beggars in the street and struggles of the poor to the spectacular, impressive sights of the forts and monuments. There were so many highlights. A moment in time that will never happen again.
