Busanga Bush Camp

Kafue National Park, Zambia

A secluded safari haven in the heart of Kafue

Busanga Bush Camp is an intimate hideaway, tucked beneath sycamore figs on a remote island in the Busanga Plains. This seasonal camp, open from June to October, offers a truly immersive safari experience in one of Zambia’s most remote wildlife regions.

With only four tented suites, the camp provides an exclusive escape where guests can fully embrace the sights and sounds of the African bush. Each spacious tent is designed to blend into the natural surroundings while offering comfort, with ensuite bathrooms, hot bucket showers, and private verandas overlooking the floodplains.

The main camp area is open-sided, allowing uninterrupted views of the plains. A lantern-lit dining deck sets the scene for atmospheric meals under the stars,...

The Busanga Plains are a haven for wildlife, renowned for their thriving lion prides and diverse range of species, including cheetahs, elephants, and large herds of red lechwe. Game drives offer the chance to witness the region’s incredible biodiversity, while seasonal boating excursions provide a unique perspective of the floodplains when water levels allow.

Busanga Bush Camp is part of a wider conservation effort to protect the Kafue ecosystem. Through its commitment to sustainability and local community initiatives, the camp plays a key role in preserving this extraordinary landscape.

An absolutely fantastic travel company - every one of the many trips they have organised for us over 22 years have been faultless and fabulous.

Thank you for putting together the ancestral adventure of a lifetime. I cannot speak highly enough of the trip. The transfers went smoothly, the accommodation was excellent, the drivers were amazing as they manoeuvred through the traffic and every tour guide had a great deal of knowledge and information. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The contrast of poverty and riches of the country was striking, from the beggars in the street and struggles of the poor to the spectacular, impressive sights of the forts and monuments. There were so many highlights. A moment in time that will never happen again.
