The bungalow has been lovingly restored with much devotion, care and commitment, whilst retaining the style of a colonial planter’s bungalow.
The bedrooms in the original bungalow have been charmingly decorated with different themes and are spacious, warm and cosy. The 4 bedrooms in the new Water Lily Bungalow have views from heaven and are stunning – fresh, light, large and beautifully furnished with local floral themes. They are traditional yet have contemporary twists and are deliciously comfortable and private.
Glenburn is the perfect place to take in its entirety and to be based at for visiting Darjeeling or to simply enjoy the magnificent views. Sitting on the lovely, flower filled verandah, gazing across the gardens to Kanchenjunga is a special, timeless experience.
There is plenty to do by way of private tours of the tea estate and an abundance of mountain activities – where else in the Himalaya can you walk all day and return to such luxury at night!
The staff are incredible and one feasts on the most delicious, fresh food – a perfect balance of Indian, Oriental and Western. Don’t miss the chicken sandwiches and the chocolate brownies at this ultimately peaceful Himalayan gem!

Thank you for putting together the ancestral adventure of a lifetime. I cannot speak highly enough of the trip. The transfers went smoothly, the accommodation was excellent, the drivers were amazing as they manoeuvred through the traffic and every tour guide had a great deal of knowledge and information. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The contrast of poverty and riches of the country was striking, from the beggars in the street and struggles of the poor to the spectacular, impressive sights of the forts and monuments. There were so many highlights. A moment in time that will never happen again.
