Legendary Lodge is a luxury Colonial Plantation Farmhouse located on the outskirts of Arusha, just ten minutes from the airport. Surrounded by a working coffee farm and set in lush tropical gardens with views of Mount Meru, it is a cool and peaceful city retreat – the ideal spot to spend a couple of nights pre– or post-safari.

The lodge offers ten secluded garden cottages each with private verandas. Most are split level with a lounge downstairs and bedroom upstairs while the family cottages feature two en suite bedrooms connected by a spacious living room, dining room and kitchen. The interiors have been designed to blend African charm and colonial style while the integrated technology, oversized beds and rain showers meet international standards of modern luxury.

Freshly brewed local coffee is delivered to your cottage each morning and gourmet meals are served in the characterful farmhouse or al fresco by candle light.

During your stay you are free to walk or cycle around the expansive estate, visit the nearby recreation centre with a gym, squash and tennis courts, huge pool and bar or indulge in a massage at the spa. Step outside the lodge for a coffee plantation tour or to visit St. Judes school, then shop for interesting handicrafts and one-off souvenirs at the new Traders Walk Centre or Shanga Foundation workshop and boutique.

Legendary Lodge is a glorious and peaceful destination and is well worth a stay of two nights or more to really enjoy the experience.

Thank you for putting together the ancestral adventure of a lifetime. I cannot speak highly enough of the trip. The transfers went smoothly, the accommodation was excellent, the drivers were amazing as they manoeuvred through the traffic and every tour guide had a great deal of knowledge and information. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The contrast of poverty and riches of the country was striking, from the beggars in the street and struggles of the poor to the spectacular, impressive sights of the forts and monuments. There were so many highlights. A moment in time that will never happen again.
