Built in a style inspired by the Mughul period, the Oberoi Amarvilas boasts a breathtaking display of terraced lawns, ornate gardens complete with fountains and pools and rich interiors that take you back to an era of Emperors & Princes. The 64 well-appointed rooms all face the Taj Mahal, a mere 600m away. The interiors are refined and stylish, reminiscent of princely India. Rooms feature teak flooring, teak furniture and spacious marble bathrooms.
There are two restaurants, one specialising in authentic Indian dishes, as well as a terrace bar with equally captivating views of the Taj. The spa is dedicated to well-being with a full range of Ayurvedic, Thai and Western treatments. Yoga sessions and meditation are also on offer.
The hotel’s privileged position allows easy access to the Taj Mahal, constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal and other famous monuments in the surrounding area including Akbar’s impressive Red Fort.
