Ulagalla is a resort located south of Anuradhapura, an ancient kingdom, right in the heart of the cultural triangle. Hidden away in the quiet village of Thirappane, the resort is situated amongst 58-acres of working paddy fields, organic vegetable plots and ornamental gardens.

Ulagalla was once the ancestral estate of local Anuradhapura nobility. The lovingly restored 150-year-old mansion revives the gracious aristocratic lifestyle of the colonial era. The manor house features a reception and lobby area on the lower level and fin dining restaurant and lounge on the upper floor.

The 25 beautifully furnished chalets boast private, peaceful surroundings and are furnished with elegance and refinement with each chalet also offering a tranquil courtyard and private plunge pool. The property also boasts a 30m fresh water swimming pool and electric cars to shuttle you within the vast grounds.

The resort offers a host of activities to enjoy during your stay including nature trails, bird watching, horse riding, cycling, archery and kayaking.

Steeped in culture and history Anuradhapura is a treasure trove of untold wonders, as it contains one of the best-preserved examples of Sri Lanka’s ancient civilisations, which seamlessly blends into the unspoiled north western terrain.

The iconic city houses the ancient ruins of temples and palaces dating back to the 10th century BC, which has earned it the honourable badge of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.The architectural wonder of Sigiriya, a 5^th century fortress built by the rebel king Kashyapa is just 45 minutes away from the resort.
