Enjoy a hearty breakfast and meet your guide and fellow travellers at reception for your pre-departure meeting at 08h00. Please ensure you are packed and checked out before this meeting, as you will depart shortly afterwards.

Your day begins with a morning game drive in Nairobi National Park, followed by a visit to the Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage. Named after the wife of renowned naturalist David Sheldrick—founding warden of Tsavo East National Park—this inspiring sanctuary provides care for orphaned wildlife.

You’ll have the chance to spend an hour observing the young animals during their mud bath session. After lunch, you’ll continue your journey to Amboseli National Reserve, arriving in the afternoon.

DAY 3 | AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK | 2 NIGHTS

Today you’ll head into Amboseli National Park for a full day of game viewing in one of Kenya’s most renowned reserves. Amboseli is famous for its impressive elephant bulls with their magnificent tusks, offering a truly classic safari experience. Imagine encountering remarkable wildlife with the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro as your backdrop.

DAY 4 | ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK | 1 NIGHT

This morning, after a leisurely breakfast, you’ll make your way to the Tanzania border and continue onwards to Arusha. En route, you’ll stop for a hike to the Marangu Waterfalls—a moderately strenuous walk, but well worth the effort at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Your journey then continues to Arusha via Moshi town, the gateway to Kilimanjaro National Park.

DAY 5 | TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK | 1 NIGHT

After breakfast, you’ll be collected from your hotel in Arusha and set off towards Tarangire National Park for a full day of game viewing. With inspiring views of the Masai Steppe and the mountains to the south, this journey to Tarangire promises to be truly memorable.

The park is renowned not only for its impressive elephant population but also for its striking baobab trees. It lies at the heart of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3,000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest, and 30,000 zebra—some of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife.

DAY 6 | MANYARA NATIONAL PARK | 2 NIGHTS

After breakfast, you’ll be collected from the hotel and set off towards Lake Manyara National Park. This spectacular reserve lies at the north-western edge of Lake Manyara, a shallow soda lake at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.

You’ll enjoy a scenic drive through the park, famed for its large flocks of flamingos and the elusive tree-climbing lions

DAY 7 | MANYARA NATIONAL PARK | 2 NIGHTS

After breakfast, you’ll set out to experience the cultural diversity of Mto-wa-Mbu, beginning at the market and visiting a Chagga family producing banana beer while passing by various farms. Along the way, your guide will introduce you to the local fruits and vegetables and explain the irrigation system that sustains the crops. After enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal in a traditional homestead, you’ll visit a Maasai Boma for a memorable cultural encounter.

The Maasai are semi-nomadic herders known for their distinctive traditional attire and commitment to a traditional lifestyle. In the late afternoon, you’ll embark on a walking tour to Lake Papyrus, where abundant birdlife and hippos can be observed.

If time permits, you can enjoy light trekking up to a waterfall. From there, you’ll take in views from the Rift Valley wall before visiting banana plantations, rice fields, and concluding with a local village visit. After this culturally rich day, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 | SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK | 3 NIGHTS

This morning, you’ll depart early for a game drive in the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater. For many, this wildlife spectacle is the highlight of their African safari. The crater is home to all of the Big Five, including a small population of endangered black rhinos. After a picnic lunch, you’ll continue towards the Serengeti, crossing the stunning Southern Plains—famous for their endless rolling grasslands dotted with rocky outcrops that provide isolated wildlife refugees

DAY 9 | SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK | 3 NIGHTS

Today you will spend a full day game driving around the Seronera area of the Serengeti. The Serengeti is divided into three main areas. Seronera is the most central and accessible region; this is where the Park headquarters is based, along with most of the larger lodges and communal campsites.

The Seronera River is the lifeblood of the Serengeti; characterized by open plains of grassland, this area is renowned for terrific game viewing all year round. It is also particularly good for lion and cheetah sightings, as well as the most elusive of all big cats, the leopard.

DAY 10 | SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK | 3 NIGHTS

Another exciting day of exploring the Serengeti National Park. With lunch boxes provided, you’ll continue with game drives throughout the afternoon, scanning the endless plains, learning about the ecosystems, and spotting many animals, understanding just why this national park is so famous. In the late afternoon, drive back to the lodge for overnight.

DAY 11 | LAKE VICTORIA | 1 NIGHT

After breakfast, you’ll travel to Lake Victoria, passing through villages of the Sukuma tribe, who raise livestock and cultivate groundnuts, sorghum, and cassava. Life here continues much as it has for generations, with subtle reminders of the 20th century. In the afternoon, you can enjoy leisure time or take a bird-watching walk along the lake shore.

DAY 12 | MAASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK | 2 NIGHTS

This morning you have the opportunity to take part in a boat excursion to one of the local fishing villages, before continuing northwards across the border into Kenya. Here, head to the Maasai Mara, the traditional land of the Maasai people, who are permitted to graze their cattle in this area.

DAY 13 | MAASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK | 2 NIGHTS

Today you’ll spend the entire day game viewing in the world-famous Maasai Mara National Park. Its diverse habitats support a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, buffalo, jackals, topi, gazelles, impalas, and elephants. Hippopotamuses and crocodiles are abundant in the rivers, while birdlife flourishes throughout the reserve.

DAY 14 | NAIROBI | 1 NIGHT

After breakfast, you’ll head to Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city. You’ll visit the Giraffe Centre and the Karen Blixen Museum—the beautiful historic farmhouse where the author of Out of Africa lived from 1917 to 1931 before leaving Kenya.

Later in the afternoon, you’ll arrive at your hotel. Time permitting, you can explore the Kazuri Beads Centre and workshop, where women handcraft striking ceramic beads—Kazuri meaning “small and beautiful” in Swahili.

Nairobi is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with a compact central business district that offers a glimpse into modern urban African life. In the evening, you’ll enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 15 | NAIROBI | DEPARTURE

Today marks the end of the safari and you will be transferred to Nairobi airport to begin your journey home or continue with your onward arrangements.

Thank you for putting together the ancestral adventure of a lifetime. I cannot speak highly enough of the trip. The transfers went smoothly, the accommodation was excellent, the drivers were amazing as they manoeuvred through the traffic and every tour guide had a great deal of knowledge and information. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The contrast of poverty and riches of the country was striking, from the beggars in the street and struggles of the poor to the spectacular, impressive sights of the forts and monuments. There were so many highlights. A moment in time that will never happen again.

Jenny Kidd

Exellent and wonderful, reaching way above expectations.

Elizabeth Mackintosh

We wanted the opportunity to see as many wildlife parks as possible and the Classic Safari Company provided an action-packed itinerary that included six, with 11 tiger sightings and nine leopard. This was overlaid with an introduction to Jaisalmer, Jaipur and the 'real' India. Pench and Panna were the hidden gems of a really great trip, very well organised, seamless and enjoyable. As a solo traveller I felt incredibly safe at all times. I want to go back!

Mark Taylor
