DAY 3 | DAMARALAND | 3 NIGHTS
After breakfast, journey south-west through open plains and scattered settlements towards Damaraland. This striking region of dramatic mesas, dry riverbeds and glowing desert colours epitomises Namibia’s wilderness spirit. Stop for a “Magic Box” picnic en route and reach Camp Doros by late afternoon, greeted by sweeping views over the Doros Joint Management Area.
Perched on a high riverbank, Camp Doros is an intimate tented camp with an exceptionally light footprint. Relax by the plunge pool or sip sundowners beside the fire as the sky ignites in pinks and purples. Dinner is served al fresco beneath a canopy of stars—a fitting welcome to this wild and remote corner of Namibia.
DAY 4 | DAMARALAND | RHINO TRACKING EXPERIENCE
Today offers one of the most profound wildlife experiences in Africa: tracking the desert-adapted black rhino on foot with experienced local rangers and members of Save the Rhino Trust. Learn about their pioneering conservation work as you follow tracks across rugged terrain in search of these remarkable animals, the only truly free-roaming population of black rhino in Africa.
Return to camp for a freshly prepared lunch and an afternoon at leisure before heading out once more for a gentle nature drive or guided walk. As the sun sets behind Damaraland’s rocky outcrops, you’ll feel the deep connection that defines this untamed landscape.
DAY 5 | DAMARALAND | DESERT-ADAPTED ELEPHANT EXPLORATION
Another day of exploration awaits as you journey through ephemeral river valleys and acacia-dotted plains in search of desert-adapted elephants. These resilient giants have learned to survive in one of the harshest environments on earth, covering vast distances between water sources and feeding on hardy desert flora.
Spend most of the day out with your guide, stopping for a picnic lunch beneath the shade of a mopane tree. Each turn reveals new wonders—from towering geological formations to traces of ancient life etched into the rock. Return to camp for a final evening of storytelling and star gazing in Namibia’s crystal-clear night skies.
DAY 6 | SWAKOPMUND | 1 NIGHT - Desert Breeze Lodge
Depart Damaraland after an early breakfast, travelling south past the dramatic Brandberg Mountain—the highest peak in Namibia—before descending to the Atlantic coast. Arrive in Swakopmund, a charming seaside town where desert dunes roll down to the ocean.
Stay at Desert Breeze Lodge, perched above the Swakop River with sweeping views of the dune sea. Enjoy an evening meal at the renowned Tug Restaurant, sampling fresh local seafood as the sun sets over the Atlantic. The contrast between desert stillness and coastal vitality makes this a refreshing interlude in your journey.
DAY 7 | SOSSUSVLEI | 2 NIGHTS - Camp Sossus
After breakfast, drive south-east through extraordinary desert scenery, crossing the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons en route to the Namib Tsaris Conservancy, Sossusvlei. A picnic lunch is served along the way, and you arrive at Camp Sossus in the afternoon.
Set within a granite amphitheatre on the edge of the Namib Desert, Camp Sossus is a masterpiece of sustainability and seclusion. Built from recycled materials and powered entirely by solar energy, it blends seamlessly into its environment. Enjoy a cooling dip in the desert pools before dinner beneath the stars, surrounded by the timeless silence of the Namib.
DAY 8 | SOSSUSVLEI & Deadvlei
Rise before dawn to enter Namib Naukluft National Park as the first light paints the dunes in shades of crimson and gold. Climb the towering sands of Sossusvlei and explore the haunting beauty of Deadvlei, where ancient camel thorn trees stand frozen in time against a backdrop of white clay and orange dunes.
After a picnic beneath a camel thorn tree, return to camp for a leisurely afternoon, perhaps enjoying a guided nature walk or another drive within the conservancy. As night falls, settle onto your open-air star bed for a spectacular view of the Milky Way.

Thank you for putting together the ancestral adventure of a lifetime. I cannot speak highly enough of the trip. The transfers went smoothly, the accommodation was excellent, the drivers were amazing as they manoeuvred through the traffic and every tour guide had a great deal of knowledge and information. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The contrast of poverty and riches of the country was striking, from the beggars in the street and struggles of the poor to the spectacular, impressive sights of the forts and monuments. There were so many highlights. A moment in time that will never happen again.
Jenny KiddExellent and wonderful, reaching way above expectations.
Elizabeth MackintoshWe wanted the opportunity to see as many wildlife parks as possible and the Classic Safari Company provided an action-packed itinerary that included six, with 11 tiger sightings and nine leopard. This was overlaid with an introduction to Jaisalmer, Jaipur and the 'real' India. Pench and Panna were the hidden gems of a really great trip, very well organised, seamless and enjoyable. As a solo traveller I felt incredibly safe at all times. I want to go back!
